FAQs

Sundays

What should I expect?

We know church can be a strange thing, but we were all new to church once and we reckon you’ll like it more than you might think. Some people think church is cold, outdated and irrelevant. We disagree. At St. Peter’s you’ll be greeted with a warm welcome and central heating, a modern sound and video system, and a contemporary style that includes music led by a band, prayers for our world today, and teaching that applies the Bible to our everyday lives here and now.

How long do the services last?

Services last no more than an hour and a half. People often stay afterwards for a drink to catch up with each other and we also offer the opportunity to pray with someone at the end of every service.

What should I wear?

Wear whatever you feel comfortable in; some people come dressed casually, others dress a bit smarter. We don’t really mind and we don’t think God does either. We only ask that you consider others and avoid wearing anything that might distract other people.

Can I come if I’m not a Christian?

Of course! We believe God wants to meet with everyone and we hope you might encounter Him when you come, even if you’re not a Christian. If you have questions about the Christian faith, why not explore it a little more by speaking to one of our leaders?

Family

Is there anything for my kids?

Yes – we have some great groups for children and teenagers.

On Sunday mornings, we all meet together in the church and the children and teenagers leave for their own groups after about 15 minutes. During the week, we also have groups for pre-school children and a youth group for teenagers. Take a look at our events calendar to see what’s on and when.

Location

How do I get to St. Peter’s?

Getting to St Peter’s is easy, regardless of how you travel. You can find out more by going to our location page where you’ll find a map and our address.

By Car – wherever you’re coming from, St Peter’s is most easily reached from the London Road (A15). When you reach the crossroads in Yaxley, turn into Yaxley and onto Broadway. Take the immediate right turn onto Dovecote Lane. At the end of Dovecote Lane, follow the road round to the left onto Church Street. Continue past the Bus Stop and take the second right turn into the church car park.

By Bus – Bus number 5 stops right outside St. Peter’s on Church Street.

Where can I park?

We have a good number of parking spaces within our church car park, which are available for anyone to use. We also have some disabled spaces for anyone with a Blue Badge. Should the car park be full, you can park on Church Street or Waterslade Road. Please just make sure you park on the same side of the street as the church – it helps keep traffic flowing!
