We want our children to take part in inspiring and stimulating activities through which they can encounter Jesus for themselves.
Children and families work at St. Peter’s is planned and coordinated. Through all kinds of activities, we aim to encourage children – of all ages – to explore faith, to develop a relationship with Jesus, and to share their beliefs with others.
On Sunday mornings, children begin in church with their parents before leaving for their own groups after about 15 minutes. There are a number of age-related groups available:
- Junior church – available at all 11.00am services, age-appropriate materials are used to help children learn to find, talk about, and meet with God. There are three age-related groups within Junior church for all children aged 3-11
- Crèche – open at all services for children aged 3 and under, with all sorts of toys and games. Children using the Crèche must be accompanied by an adult
We also make space for children to play an active part in church life. We have opportunities for children and young people to lead the congregation in singing or in prayer, and others to help us discover God’s Word by reading or presenting the Bible using drama.
During the week, Sparks meets on alternate Friday mornings in church. Sparks is our baby and toddler group, which follows a themed programme for each term with craft, music, story-time, and more! Refreshments are available.
